Hi there! My name is Leisa and I live in Cache Valley, Utah. I was born and raised here but I’ve also lived in Salt Lake City and Gilbert, AZ. I am very passionate about nutrition, especially in regards to the little people in our lives. I am married to a wonderful man and have one darling and active little boy G (but I’m not biased at all), who I’m sure you’ll hear a lot about. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology and a Masters degree in Nutrition, both from the University of Utah. I have a diverse background in dietetics, ranging from community nutrition to metabolic disorders to weight management to diabetes. I love working with kids to help them understand nutrition and develop a healthy relationship with food. I am a card-carrying Registered Dietitian and hope to share valuable information and tips to help you nurture your sprout. I am also an avid baker, runner and peek-a-boo player (thanks to G), so you may see recipes and exercise tips pop up on my posts from time to time. Thanks for letting me share a little piece of my life with you!
Hi! I’m Monica, the psychology nerd in this trio. I was born in Mexico and moved to Logan, Utah when I was 10 years old. I’ve had an interest in psychology and parenting education since early in college and am excited to continue this passion through this blog! I graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. In Psychology and was able to immerse myself in research regarding treatment outcomes in child therapy, as well as intern at a child advocacy and mental health center in Provo, UT. I then went on to receive an Ed.M. and M.A. in Psychological Counseling from Columbia University and began counseling children and adolescents during an internship at a well-established child and adolescent mental health center in New York City. Since graduating, I’ve worked as a Behavior Support Specialist and helped children and their families establish school, sleep, and hygiene routines, as well as manage anger and maladaptive behaviors affecting their daily lives.
I love going to the beach, taking pictures (to my husband’s dismay ;)) and reading parenting books (not joking). I live in Palo Alto, California, where I currently stay home with my toddler. I only speak Spanish to him (blog post for another day!) and hope to raise a chatty bilingual child who has my husband’s sense of humor (and dance moves).
